Email link tracking
Last updated: 17 July 2026
This notice explains the tracking in the emails we send as part of our business outreach — what it does, why, and how to stop it.
What we track
- Whether you open our email and click its links.
- That your visit to alekstra.ai came from that specific email, via an opaque token in the link.
- The pages you then view on our site and any enquiry you submit.
How it works
Links in our emails carry a random, opaque token unique to your copy of the message. When you click, we record the click and, on arrival, connect the visit to your contact record in our CRM. The token holds no personal data and is removed from your browser's address bar immediately. First-party cookies on alekstra.ai then record the pages you view. The specific cookies are listed in our cookie policy.
Why we do it (lawful basis)
We rely on our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in understanding whether our B2B outreach is relevant and in following up appropriately. We have weighed this against your interests; the data is limited to business context and is not used for automated decisions producing legal effects.
How to opt out
You can opt out of site tracking at any time from the cookie banner or “Cookie preferences” in the footer — this deletes the tracking cookies. To stop email tracking entirely, or to have us erase the data we hold, email privacy@alekstra.com. You can also unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any message.
Your rights
You have the full set of GDPR rights over this data — access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability. See our privacy policy for details and how to exercise them.
